ASSET RECOVERY AND RECYCLING COMPANY ANNOUNCES NAME CHANGE
ITASCA, IL - September 8, 2008 – R3 Systems Group, specialists in end-of-life asset recovery and recycling solutions for information and consumer technologies, announces that it has changed its name to Nextend, LLC.
“Our focus on aftermarket potential drove this endeavor,” says Tom Kunkel, president of Nextend and co-founder of R3 Systems Group. “In this age of sustainability and efforts to be “green,” we realized that our brand did not adequately reflect the importance we place on reuse. Our operation is solely based on reprocessing assets for reuse, whether in whole, or part, or as inert material. Our new name Nextend, and our tagline, Extending Value into Nextmarket™ better define our mission, vision, and eco-advantage.”
“A perfect storm has formed: Moore’s Law is in full effect with functionality increasing and prices falling. The result includes strict data security liabilities and growing e-waste and disposal liabilities,” says Kunkel. “Ironically, we must now reprocess domestically the very products that we could not competitively manufacture here since end-of-life electronics can no longer be exported due to these liabilities. As these products continue to commoditize, cost-effective reprocessing requires consistent re-application of process engineering principles” he adds.
